A Bio-Solar-House is certified as a healthy living space, it guarantees you extraordinary comfortable living, it needs neither oil, gas nor electricity for heating, has low heating and running costs, and protects the environment.
The benefits of the Bio-Solar-House design: no vapour barrier and no ventilation system, in contrast to the conventional low-energy house. Available as a timber or steel construction, both prefabricated.
These homes are as green and sustainable as it gets, while focussing on high building quality and the health of its inhabitants.
The House-In-A-House Principle is engineered in Germany, patented in New Zealand.
What’s In A Name?
Green and sustainable, environmentally-friendly. You’ve probably heard these terms used a lot. But they also demand dedication and consequential action in order to be fulfilled, and not just another catch phrase. The name Bio-Solar-House reflects simply the concept these homes are built upon.
BIO
Zero or minimal impact on human health and nature. The is the guiding criteria for all the materials used in a Bio-Solar-House. Unhealthy chemical substances which often release toxins for many years after initial application are avoided as much as possible. Also, relying on simple physics wherever possible allows nature to work for you, rather than implementing costly electronic devices. The wood fibres and air pockets used for insulation are examples of this.
SOLAR
The overwhelming majority of the house’s energy requirements are covered by an active use of solar energy. Solar energy is also stored as hot water. Modern heating elements allow even small amounts of solar energy to be utilized.
The very engineering of a Bio-Solar-House uses solar energy passively too, reducing the need for active heating dramatically. The trademark transparent roof, conservatory and increased wall thickness (420 mm versus the NZ standard of merely 120 mm) all contribute to this superior quality of housing.
New Zealand’s First
Bio-Solar-House
Take a look at what this healthy, green and sustainable building concept looks like! The country’s very first was built in the Wairarapa, planned and constructed by Swiss-trained Carterton carpenter Andi Steinemann.
